@raspberrypanda question.. how would I know if I start to experience perimenopause and what tests might a doctor run to help determine this?
For a full list of 34 (and counting) symptoms that can indicate you are in the perimenopause stage this post from a Kiwi integrative doctor is the best laid out I've seen.
Personally I've had ~17 of the 34. Some of them come and go - so you might want to consider if you've had bouts of insomnia or bouts of UTIs, etc.

@raspberrypanda my bouts of insomnia seem to go in phases. Ugh.
If you're not in the target demographic then a doctor would probably look for other issues first, but if you are... and there's no other obvious cause, it's not an unreasonable assumption that fluctuations may have begun.
But everyone is unique. You know you best. If it feels off...
2am nearly every night for a while there for me. I feel you. ๐
@raspberrypanda i always wondered how my mom could be up in the middle of the night in her late 50s. Now I know.
@annamuneca
Perimenopause isn't usually tested for because at this point in the journey the hormones will be fluctuating quite a bit.
Symptoms will be the thing that lets you know.
This is an app you can use to track symptoms with. Or you can use the info in the app to track on paper if you prefer.
The symptoms are wide ranging and often seemingly unrelated.
Happy to answer any other questions once I've had dinner. ๐ ๐
