Would you charge your children rent to live at home?

@insomniacviolin “rent” in the form of chores, helping with groceries/utilities, helping with yard work or other home upkeep.

@annamuneca they want financial reimbursement and we are talking hundreds of dollars, like $500 - 700 a month...

My only assignment was to maintain my areas and to help with some upkeep (not financial) when asked. (They can drop thousands of dollars and not even blink and can do so without financial problems and I'm over here financially struggling.

@insomniacviolin I’m sorry about your situation, that seems quite unfair. A lot depends on situation. I lived with my sister for 8 months post-divorce when I had very little money due to ‘starting over’. I paid $400/mo rent to her and she let me pay her later when I got caught up. Some people have compassionate hearts, others do not.

@annamuneca mom likes to feel powerful and she also likes money. I just kinda sat there like "I thought you wanted me to strengthen and build my account, not kill it..."
