They see things as they really are. No trappings. No bullshit. Unaffected.
Most people consider them to be less than. Lower folk. But they're mistaken.
I was an Avon Lady (yes, Ding Dong - Avon Calling) who got promoted to an executive level & moved to Morton Grove office. During the very first month of orientation and training, my mentor asked "who would everyone here miss the most if they were absent for a week - you or the janitor?" The answer was obvious - no one in the bldg would miss me! There is no more or less - only different.
