@BlueStateBabe Hi there -- it was an unfortunate accident, TBH -- I screwed up a jade plant (long story) but when I was clearing the pot I realized that there were a few areas of the stem that might be viable despite the damage to the main plant. Trimmed the root sections -- there were three -- and did what I could to establish a growth medium; put them into a mini-dormancy, and here's the result a month-ish later. Fingers crossed, right? Will try to grab another photo later today...
@BlueStateBabe Ouch. And yeah -- never have had luck propagating anything from a leaf. I actually gave up after trying it a few times with the jade plant these were taken from!
@agunn So...it's not just me, then. Of course, there are numerous variants of jade plants, so perhaps I simply didn't have the correct one.
@agunn Way to make lemonade out of lemons. I was told they were considered "lucky" because it was easy to grow a new one from a leaf, but I am not so sure. Mine got frost bitten and died. 😥
