Sometimes I wonder how adults find new friends 🤔

@Zolah Hanging out here was a great place to start for me.

@kel @Zolah

Apparently our chances rise in proportion to social media usage...
but as always, caveat emptor, past performance is no guarantee of future "success" blah blah. 😆

@Zolah @kel

As an adult I’ve “met” many “new friends” on social media, ones that I probably wouldn’t have in “real life.” 🤓❤️ Some assholes too but those you can mute and block…and delete the app if they buy the site. 🤪

@kel nice ^^ I'm just really bad at taking contact with people, like idk, I'm worried that people will get annoyed with me?

@Zolah It's not easy IRL. Once you reach a certain age, everyone is married or marriage-adjacent..

I have a small circle of RL friends and family. Outside that I'm happy to have social media friends and focus on hobbies and interests.

@princesscarolyn yeah definitely, I have alot of friends irl but it's hard cause people are so focused on either work, mental health or kids. So even if I have many on paper, it's hard to do anything with them.

Online it feels like my friends are dwindling a little, got burnt out and ever since it's been hard to reconnect. Hoping finding somewhere where I can connect and have some fun, maybe here who knows ? ^^

@princesscarolyn antiques club? Is it like.... People who like talking about old furniture? xD I've only heard about antiquing so I'm wildly guessing.

@Zolah It's a bit of a trope - "lonely singles join things like hiking clubs and antiques clubs to meet new people" sort of thing...

@princesscarolyn Ah I get it, here it's majorly the bar / pub people go to. Oh yeah, and " bugg " dancing.

@princesscarolyn in Sweden it was a big thing, I don't know how to translate it but the closest i can think of is like 50s rockabilly dancing or something? Like grease xD but they dance to Swedish dance bands. ( used to at least ). When I was younger it was looked upon as pretty "uncool" , I still think its pretty meh but I'm not as judgy as I used to be xD

@Zolah Fascinating! I love local cultural things like that.
