@YouInMyEye I lost a cat to a Golden Eagle. The cat was 15 years old and started sleeping in full view. The Eagles around here are very large.
Wow... I bet that was a traumatic experience... I can't imagine...
That's like losing a family member to an eagle... 😢
Friend of mine's elderly chihuahua was picked up by an owl but dropped... poor tiny lady had a concussion and broken leg, but survived. If they hadn't found her, they would've never known what happened.

Not infrequent
While I was talking to a neighborhood bunny, suddenly it jumped and was ready to take off. Lo and behold there was a giant hawk swooping down then it saw me so it flew away. I was contemplating whether I should let nature be nature or intervene.... I came to conclusion that I would have jumped to save the bunny since I was talking to him, it was my buddy under my care.

I have one 🐰 too. Put out strawberry tops for him yesterday.
@YouInMyEye Yes it was once I figured out what happened. I heard the sound of it's wings through the window but did not understand what the sound was. The cat completely disappeared that day.
