Today’s my brother’s BIRTHDAY- haven’t called him since last year. He was ranting about how bad the FL schools were- terrible pay for teachers. I said it’s a great reason to vote for Harris and he went off on hardcore maga diatribe. My 2 other brothers I wrote off years ago. We all grew up in the same family… how did they end up being racist, sexist maga hate mongers ???

Not peer pressure… all 3 of them are loners- 2 married but very few friends. Our dad was a jet fighter pilot in Marines. Very popular squadron commander. We lived all over the country, including the south- all 3 boys are very different but all maga racists. Fox, Newsmax and no ability to judge truth from extreme bullshit. If Trump doesn’t win, Harris will let millions of criminals from all over invade our country just like she did in CA. omg.. I’m still in shock.
Yes, same here. What I mean by peer pressure is pressure from their surroundings eg parents. siblings, etc and even Fox News... yes, peer pressure from a news outlet.
I wonder if it’s a brain deficiency… seriously. They lock on certain beliefs and will not change. Logic, science, facts don’t get through their filters. They are armored against any approach that challenges their belief system. My brother loves me but tell s me I’ve always been crazy in politics so he won’t discuss it with me. I’m a news,current events reader/researcher and know the line between FACTS & OPINIONS & LIES- I don’t think my brothers do.
One of my uncle who has a doctorate in chemistry yet he's complete wrong eg on the nat'l debt chronology (Importantly he's lived and worked in Carolinas for decades.)
What he absolutely believes is conveniently all favoring Republicans. I was amazed at how a person, as educated as he was, had fallen for such falsities. I was totally flabbergasted...

Sorry, but i have relatives too that are very educated and good at what they do but don't care about anything that isn't in the United States and they get all their news from Fox news. They can't be bothered to read in depth about foreign affairs, economics & world events.

I was doing Halloween crafts last night with my 11 year old grandkid and out of nowhere she said she hates trump. I almost started crying. Her mom (my daughter and son in law) are maga for no apparent reason. At least not one that they can give me. I'm just so proud of her

That’s a really good point. Fox “news” becomes a sole source to feed their fantasies. My brothers are NOT readers. The one I just talked to said he used to listen to CNN but no they’re just spouting Democratic bullshit so he’s banned the channel in his house.
