I have no clue... perhaps a bad kangaroo?
@YouInMyEye LOL!
@YouInMyEye Maybe a wallaby?
Yes.
@danalan @YouInMyEye DING DING DING DING! We have a winner. :)
@TrueBloodNet @YouInMyEye It's got cloven hooves, I wonder if it's maybe a baby Dik Dik?
@nonayadambidnes @YouInMyEye Yes, I agree.
@nonayadambidnes @TrueBloodNet
Pardon me... baby what??
@YouInMyEye @TrueBloodNet Unsolicited Dik Dik pic.
Can't believe there are people who hunt these things. Look how adorable they are!
@nonayadambidnes @TrueBloodNet
Wow... cute face... Yeah we humans... apparently have license to kill anything...
The first one I ever saw was this pic from a zoo in England, this baby one was orphaned and this guy bottle fed it. It's like a little fairy tale creature!
@nonayadambidnes @YouInMyEye @TrueBloodNet I feel like I must offer the opposing viewpoint from the popular here.
That critter does indeed look adorable.
It also looks _tasty_, and like I could eat it without it staving in my ribs or skull with its hooves.
Tasty is not an individual survival trait.
@nonayadambidnes @YouInMyEye @TrueBloodNet Having said that, I have become a bit of a connoisseur of cuteness, so I prefer to err on the side of eating the more homely and easily-accessible food animals.
It's become hard to eat anything I want to hug.
You people are a bad influence.
#TrueStory
As Beltway Brats (D.C. metro), for field trips we school kids of the region got to visit the Smithsonian museums and other well known attractions. In the early 70s, the National Zoo's habitat which housed several species of African mammals had an indoor space that wasn't enclosed. It was more like a raised bed enviro with a rock wall retainer. Well, there were some Dic Dics romping around as my class toured. I caught one as it nearly fell! 😍
@nonayadambidnes @YouInMyEye @TrueBloodNet
@YouInMyEye @nonayadambidnes DikDik. Tiny antelope found in Africa. I saw them on my trip there, they are adorable.
@TrueBloodNet @nonayadambidnes
Cool. Never been to Africa. 👍
@TrueBloodNet @YouInMyEye @nonayadambidnes While there's a lizard-brain part of me that wants to eat them, the civilized part of me wants to hug them and feed them snacks.
@YouInMyEye I feel privileged to live in a world where I am able to see that picture of the lady with the teensy deer.
@YouInMyEye What is that? It's kinda adorable!
