The danger of many positions coming from religion is it can be used to justify anything. "God works in mysterious ways. Who are you to question God?"
Conveniently, God's position seems to mirror their own. People always baptize their bias.
The danger is when religious leaders buy-in. Because they can move people who otherwise might oppose when it is made an article of their faith.
