Note: this will ruin the plastic 5-gallon bottle, as the water freezes it will split the bottle, but I just tell the water delivery people "Whoops I dropped that one".

When we first bought our house, I purchased a Chest Freezer, specifically for emergencies like a Hurricane.

So yesterday I took an empty 5 gallon water bottle, filled it 1/3 full, and put it in my Chest Freezer. By the time the Milton hits Orlando, it will be frozen.

If we lose electricity, I move everything into the chest freezer ~72 hours of slightly cold refrig temps, and you can open it and get stuff out without losing all the cold air.
