IPV6 notation is totally and completely fucking incomprehensible to the normal human brain.
that is all
You want to know the real reason why everyone has moved back to CLI for programming / service maintenance?
It's because people like Linus, et. al. are too damn lazy and / or not skilled enough to figure out how to make good Developer UX.
GUI is DAMN DIFFICULT, and the current crop of Kewl Kids instead of doing the hard work, just throw up their hands and say "everyone else can just remember 2,389 esoteric command line arguments to make this stuff work..."
As a programmer who made my living programming since 1995, and went from DOS to Windows, from Command Line to Mouse UI to full graphic UX programming interfaces.
This push since 2015 by "expert programmers" for moving the entire programming experience back to the Future of CLI for servers / systems / services I feel like Scotty:
<With Scorn>"How quaint..."</With Scorn>
I hate streams.
As programming constructs they suck and are unintuitive (in C# at least)
That wonderful feeling you get when you realize that 3 years ago your decisions on where to place the "Separation of Concerns" have meant that in a 12 component System, it turns out you only need to update two major components to use a completely new data access scheme.
Damn turns out sometimes I DID know what I was doing!
It's amazing to me how many times being a responsible business person / professional programmer involves, as quickly as possible, responding with:
That's not my fault and there is nothing I can do about it, you need to talk to <any one who isn't part of my working group will do>
I absolutely HATE it when something I did, broke somebody else's programming project / build.
I'm most likely to grovel and profuse apologize when I've interrupted a fellow programmers day with a stupid programmer trick.
Only cause I know how much it ticks me off when the roles are reversed!
Microsoft's blog on setting out to make sure of inclusive hiring and their effort to make sure that people with Autism can get recognized and hired

And let's be honest, isn't every good programmer in the world, if not Autistic, at least down the road on that spectrum?

I really love being a programmer and programming. It really is my second most preferred profession, and it's second only by the narrowest of margins.
But some days as I'm working on a really hard modification with all sorts of hidden bug bombs just waiting for me, I get an inkling of how most people would rather die than spend all day tied to a computer screen.
I'm still my job so thank god I'm not one of those.
I know I could just google this, but it's more fun to ask you fine folks.
Does anyone know why the string " NaN " with that particular casing, is the string value that is meant to be used in so many systems (like GeoJSON) to denote a null value?
Why not NuLL or -null-? what exactly does NaN stand for?
"Null and Null"?
there's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.
"Why the hell isn't this stupid library working it should be FUCKING working ARRRGGGHH"
Finally looks closely at the line of code where I typed `internal set;` instead of just `set;`
We all live in a love/hate relationship with the OS of our preferred choice.
every single one of us..
I'm trying to locate the ORIGINAL UX Guidelines for Metro Style Apps from Microsoft from back in 2012
I could use any help anyone can offer.
For copyright purposes, because of a stupid EU company, Microsoft has expunged it from ALL of their archives.
I have a search problem so I decided to use RegEx to solve the problem...
Now I have two problems.
I could use any help,
What would be a RegEx search expression that would find both of the following two items?
[13:21:51 INF]
[13:24:00 DBG]
some content in square brackets where the first two characters are 13 and it is followed by a space.
Do any of you have THAT pedantic co-worker who just makes you want to do this to them when ever you talk to them?
TFW you need to go remove all your Debug.Write and Trace.Write lines from your code because after 2 years of working on the app there is so much noise in the debug windows you can't keep track of the process you are trying to currently debug...
*sigh*
Senior Dev at my Work 2 years ago: I hate how sometimes we don't have a plan or coordination on what we are working on next.
Same Senior Dev in the past couple of months: I don't do paperwork and don't have time for Corporate bullshite.
