As some of you may know, I think I've mentioned it, one of my guilty pleasures is reading m/m romance novels. Now putting aside Sturgeon's law, from time to time, I'll pick up a book where I find the writing is good, the story is engaging, and the world building is excellent...

and then the Female author will include the obligatory chapter to write a "hot sex scene".

It is usually painfully obvious to me she didn't consult with a male who has had sex with another male.

@XSGeek Nazri Noor has a more romantic series (he normally writes more fantasy) = Arcane Hearts which you might enjoy. Obviously, as a gay man, he has no issues writing scenes (although I did not find them too explicit). He has a gay couple in his Darkling Mage series but that is very low key. He recommended W.M. Fawkes and Sam Burns to his Facebook group and I am enjoying their books too.

@XSGeek I can’t say I’m surprised some authors do this, but I am surprised their books get published.

@XSGeek
My wife reads m/f romance novels, and to be fair to the sex scenes written, it's not just m/m romance that suffers it. I've looked at her books (can't get into them, but I've tried to have something to share) and the scenes in there make me wonder if they know how straight people have sex. So many turgid throbbing adjectives πŸ™„
