#Politics FroM #CNN: #Trump attorneys file request with Judge Cannon to dismiss classified documents charges, citing the #SCOTUS immunity ruling.
Well, we knew that was coming ... π

Latest models shifting further north into Texas, somewhere around Corpus Christi to Houston. The intensity at landfall would be a tropical storm. But still three days to go.
More "bad news for #Biden" as the economy last month added more jobs than projected. The unemployment rate ticked up 0.1%.

#Politics #Economy From #CBSNews:
More bad news for #Biden as U.S. gas prices for July 4 are the lowest they've been since 2021.

For #ID4 fans ... The original soundtrack release was pitiful. La La Land Records in 2010 released a two-CD version that did the soundtrack justice.
It's sold out, but you can listen online at Soundtrack.net.

#CoSoWriters Listening to the "Independence Day" score really loud while I work on editing my space book. π
This morning's models still show Beryl heading for the general vicinity of #SpaceX #Starbase in Boca Chica.
If you have FB access, Mike's Weather Page posted this model of projected maximum wave heights. Starbase is at the Gulf tip of Texas on the Mexico border. The roads flood all the time. What will storm surge of 30-35 feet do to Starbase? We may find out on Monday.
Today's household matinee will be, of course, "Independence Day."
When it was released in 1996, we saw the movie in a theater that was across the street from the El Toro Marine base.
When the general told Will Smith, "El Toro has been completely destroyed," everyone in the theater roared with laughter.
After the movie, we walked outside and could see with our own two eyes it was still there. π

@MLClark P.S. Neelix had one brief scene at the end with a couple lines. B'Elanna wasn't in it at all.
@MLClark They hold a summit in the Voyager conference room. Valerie says they were just training to conduct reconnaissance, which brings us back to the KGB village analogy.
Somehow 8472 had enough information about Starfleet to duplicate the academy, but no information about Starfleet's nature?!
They made peace. David Gerrold always said, "Star Trek is about making friends of enemies." In that sense, π . But I still don't find it plausible.

@MLClark EMH figures out they're Species 8472. If memory services, the Changelings hadn't surfaced in DS9 by the time Voyager left, so they wouldn't suspect the Changelings were behind this.
The KGB villages were to train spies, not to prepare for a full-scale invasion of the U.S. Still not buying this.
Ah, the universal answer, Borg nanoprobes, this time as a weapon ...
Why do aliens always want to be just like North American humans? Rhetorical question. (3/x)
