The office sent affected voters a notice, and took them off the active list if they didn't respond within 30 days.

Bobanic in August mailed a letter to the 150,504 affected voters, and so far has gotten 41,813 requests from voters seeking to get back on the vote-by-mail mailing list. Of those requests, about 44.6% came from Democrats; 37.7% came from Republicans; and 17.7% came from voters who have no party affiliation or are members of a minor party.

#Politics If you live in #Florida, a reminder that the Republican legislature made it more difficult for you to vote by mail. You must re-register every two years to vote by mail, otherwise you'll be dropped from the mail list.

EDIT ... MSNBC reporter just interviewed a Republican House member walking by. He confirmed McCarthy said he won't run again.

#Politics Today's House vote to oust Speaker McCarthy continues a trend in recent decades of Republicans eating their own.

Newt Gingrich -- resigned after an ethics violation reprimand and seats lost in the 1998 congressional election.

John Boehner -- resigned in October 2015 after losing the support of his conference.

Paul Ryan -- chose not to run for re-election in the 2018 mid-terms.

And then there's Dennis Hastert, who years later went to prison for sexual abuse of teenage boys.

Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy served as House speaker for 269 days before being removed by a majority vote on Tuesday ...

The record for the shortest term is held by Rep. Michael C. Kerr of Indiana, who served as speaker for 257 days.

Kerr died in office of consumption on August 19, 1876.
