We ran into this problem with a local recall back in 1995. Professional signature gatherers get paid by the signature, so they have the incentive to cheat. Although we turned in enough signatures, about 25%-30% of them turned out to be bogus.

The banners are constantly refreshed, but I have to admire the courage of whomever is hanging them. This county is overwhelmingly pro- #Trump. I fully expected these to be vandalized long ago.
The pro-Trump roadside vendor used to be about a half-mile north of this, but she's moved on. I never saw any customers at her stand.
