In case you need a refresher on how the top thingie separates from the bottom thingie ...

Well, this is the view you and I would have had with my smartphone if the mission had launched. They scrubbed due to a problem with the stage separation system (i.e. the top part wouldn't separate from the bottom part). They say they'll try again tomorrow at 7:20 PM EDT.

Too bad, the trajectory would have gone right over the Moon on the horizon.

Good morning from the of ... A moonset this morning at Manatee Cove Park in north Merritt Island.

(Yes, there are manatees, just not in this photo.)

Former Administrator Jim Bridenstine will be the guest speaker at November's National Space Club Florida luncheon in Cape Canaveral. Tickets will go fast.

This became a national news story. Attached are articles the next day from the .

Read the video description of details. (2/x)

These are sandhill cranes. They are quite possibly the dumbest birds on the planet. They will wander into stopped traffic and peck at cars. I was at a local ballgame that had to stop for ten minutes because a pair landed in the outfield and refused to leave, no matter how hard everyone tried to chase them off. "Peabrain" would be an exaggeration.

But pretty to look at. They're migrating through here this time of year.

Final photo ... An attempt at artistic expression in the Rocket Garden.

I filmed some videos today, will try to post them in the next day or so.

Thanks for joining me on this day out, tripping down memory lane.

Back at ... The newest building is Gateway, which opened in 2022. It was our first "NewSpace" exhibit. The star of the show is the flight-flown and reused Falcon 9.

Lots of companies have artifacts on display, as well as for Project .

The requisite tourist photo of the Vehicle Assembly Building.

This bus stop was originally built in the early 1970s to display remnants of the Saturn V program, and then for the U.S. Bicentenntial in 1976. Those artifacts were restored and moved in 1996 to the Apollo Saturn V Center. The location remains a bus stop with various items.

A more panoramic view of Pad 39B, used by NASA for Project . The mobile launcher is on the pad. (Crawler not included.)

A closer look at the new launch and landing tower at Pad 39A.

Elon envisions a tower nicknamed Mechazilla that would use grappling arms to capture a landing Starship. (See the illustration on the right.) Presumably the photo on the left is the base for Starship.

I don't know what the tank is for.
