@NorCalCherylLyn I always described #StarTrek as a "gateway drug" into science fiction. I know SF writers who roll their eyes at "Trekkies" (I prefer Trekkers), but I remind them that those Trekkies wouldn't be reading their books if Star Trek hadn't introduced them to science fiction. Roddenberry used many SF writers for his scripts; no doubt viewers saw those names on the screen and went looking for their books.
@WordsmithFL exactly! It’s silly to heap scorn on the thing that brought so many to their market. Authors with that attitude cut their owns noses off. 🤦🏻♀️
