Here's a little fun back story about #starwars Episode II. When I first started seriously writing books, my goal was to write for the Star Wars Expanded Universe. The very first book I wrote was a novel length prequel to SW Ep 2. I naively thought I could just send it off to the editors of Del Rey Books and that would be it. @ianthealy I once had the same naivete, only I didn't write a complete novel, I sent a letter to Lucasfilm in Marin County asking if they were allowing it. I received a very nice reply on Lucasfilm letterhead that said no. I kept the letter for years.
