Ok, maybe an unpopular opinion with religious ppl however simply bc archeology finds something that may coincide with something in the Bible doesn't make the whole Bible true. I believe personally in a higher power or God if you will however I do not believe in man's writing the Bible. I believe man has a high motive to write things that benefit themselves at any given moment not necessarily fact. Also being rewritten five million times
@WhiteRose Right. The Christian Bible is merely fanfiction, or a retelling of earlier myths, stories, legends, and writings.
@WhiteRose People have an unconscious bias, that if they want to believe in something, they believe in evidence that seems to support their belief, even if flimsy or magical, and they ignore or don't seek evidence that discounts the belief.
So you end up with a person that if you say a savior died on the cross, then tell them a splinter came from that cross, they'll believe the guy was real.
@AskTheDevil ❤️ Exactly 💯 That's why my belief is sure a person could use the Bible if they so wish to as a type of " guide" however they shouldn't take literal everything.
@WhiteRose Right! 🖤 These stories shouldn't be taken as literal, or even true. One should attempt to figure out what the story is meant to teach, and then decide whether they learned something worthwhile.
@WhiteRose I think if someone needs a book to tell them you're not supposed to be a bad person, there's a problem.
@AskTheDevil ❤️
@AskTheDevil agree 💯
lends to the concept of whispering a story in one person's ear and having that person whisper it into another person's ear and doing that in a long chain. The story gets distorted by the end.
Also, we have things carbon dated further back then the Bible would go.
