You can't "accidentally" type out over 140 characters of a hateful, negative, seething message and hit SEND.

You can't find a 20lb rock, drive it several miles, drop it off a bridge onto oncoming traffic and call it a "prank".

You can't "accidentally" lower your voice several octaves when you're imitating how you think a trans woman sounds when they speak in order to make a joke about them.

None of that is accidental or ignorant. It's intentional. Hateful people don't deserve free passes.

The language, excuses, and reality hoops people will jump through to make white people look innocent of heinousness is astounding.

But when a Black person makes a mistake ... like an ACTUAL mistake ... Oh lord does the world rise up to DESTROY them, their career, their family, and everything else. There isn't one ounce of grace available for any BIPOC who may actually do something unintentionally. BIPOC and people of the #GlobalMajority have to be PERFECT at all times ... can't ever make any mistakes ... can't EVER be seen to do anything that goes against the flow.

Simon and Schuster, per my request, reverted 20 titles back to my hands. It’s decades of beloved writing: “The Best American Erotica” short story series, that I ran for fifteen years, and my nonfiction like “The Sexual State of the Union,” and “How to Read/Write a Dirty Story.”

To give personal note: Transgender lives affect my own. I am trans, demi-masc/demi-boy however which you feel fits the bill. I am not on HRT, or surgically transitioned yet. (It's in the works!) I am a mother of a young son that's firmly masculine identifying. If my 7 year old can accept me as I am, with all my bundled up mental health conditions I live with, so can everyone else. And I live that truth, daily. My son understands unconditional acceptance and love. I'm proud as hell of him.
