Good morning CoSo! ☕ ☀️

I am on Chapter 6 of Hail Mary by Andy Weir, and am thoroughly enjoying it. Has anyone else partaken? I've also read The Martian (once before seeing the movie and once after) and Artemis (just once).

@Helical_Code Recently finished Hail Mary and also really enjoyed it. I liked it more than The Martian (which didn’t have the science/atmosphere experience balance I needed - a little too science-heavy for me).

@WGKris @Helical_Code I listened to the audiobook and spent several hours over a single weekend with it. Really great, engrossing tale.

@ianthealy

I was thinking about you this morning and wondering if the level of technical detail would feel boggy and "professorial" for you (given your comments about Neal Stephenson). I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the book overall!

@WGKris

@Helical_Code @WGKris It's not presented in lecture format, and it's immediately germane to the problems at hand. I don't mind technical detail if it doesn't detract from the story.

@WGKris

The science heaviness of the first book makes sense for a first novel from a technical professional. I've known a lot of people who have spent a lot of time at JPL, and so it all seemed kinda familiar.
