becomes a hurricane.
Next up:
"Showers and thunderstorms continue to show signs organization in association with an area of low pressure located a few hundred miles SSW of the Cabo Verde Islands. Environmental
conditions appear conducive for further development of this system, and a tropical depression is expected to form during the next
day or two while it moves slowly westward over the eastern
tropical Atlantic."

Bizarre TARs

These strange features in Syria Planum are still being widely debated. They have the same general form as transverse aeolian ridges (TARs) elsewhere on Mars; windblown deposits that are common in the Martian tropics. Their height and spacing are similar to the more familiar looking TARs in other places, and they are similarly bright. Unless Nature is perverse, they were both made by the same process.

1. Northwestern Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico:
Environmental conditions could support some gradual development of this system, and a tropical depression could form over the next several days while it moves generally NE over the NW Caribbean Sea and the southern Gulf of Mexico.
Interests along the U.S. Gulf Coast should continue to monitor the
progress of this system.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10%.
* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...40%.

...INCREASED RISK FOR ADDITIONAL LANDSLIDES ACROSS THE NORTH
CAROLINA MOUNTAINS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...

In coordination with the North Carolina Geological Survey, it has
been determined that a risk of additional landslide activity
exists across the mountains of North Carolina this afternoon and
evening. Many unstable slopes remain in areas of steep terrain
because of the heavy rain that fell late last week from Helene.

- Taking the pup for a walk this Monday evening? Outside of a stray light shower, rain is pretty much done for the area, so no major rain protection needed.

"I tried to warn people. Except that the warning was not well received by everyone. A person accused me of being a “climate militant,” a suggestion that I’m embellishing extreme weather threats to drive an agenda. Another simply said that my predictions were “an exaggeration.”

But it wasn’t an exaggeration."

in an article of @TheBulletinOfTheAtomicScientists

- Coming up tonight on @WDEFNews12, more light showers tonight (which could cause more landslides in North Carolina, and more warm weather for the end of the week.
