Decided to give The Walking Dead a try (never seen it before despite the hype), and I must say I have questions.
- Why can the zombies smell? Why can they see? Why can they hear? None of the brain regions responsible for these senses are functioning.
- Why are they hungry? Their digestive system is inexistent.
- Why isn't their flesh falling off? With the amount of time passed since patient 0, the "walkers" should be just walking skeletons.
@Vonzales there must be some brain activity or else that wouldn’t be the kill shot. brain has to be functional for destroying it to matter. as the show progresses you see that some zombies do eventually get to the point where they’re barely animated skeletons. new zombies keep getting made though so there’s that. i dipped a few seasons in but I don’t think they ever explain how it works. they definitely don’t in the books. a brain-hijacking parasite is the most rational possibility imho.
@deadweirdo
No.
In an episode at the CDC HQ they showed an MRI recording of an infected volunteer in which an emphasis was made on the fact of the brain being completely dead and the only neural electric activity was registering in the spinal-cranium connecting area.
@deadweirdo
That made me laugh 😆
“Never explain because do you realize how much actual work that’s gonna entail?!”
A textbook definition of lazy writing right there. And it shows.
