This is a great read about what's going on in FL property insurance.
We have friends who just had to sell & move bc their insurance went UP by $8500.00 year!
Average homeowners' insurance here is now $6000.00? vs $1500.00 per yr in most the US?

Many of them are discovering that now. Insurance inspectors who wrote damage reports after Hurricane Ian are complaining that the final settlements are a fraction of the payable amounts the inspectors recommended for the insured homeowners.
@VictoriaLandis1 --I don't doubt that one bit. The P&C industry was able to use the lack of hurricane or flood insurance to deny benefits to policy holders. The idea of living on a landfill in Southwest Florida, without proper insurance coverage is nutty. This is especially so given that FL is in the path of most hurricanes that strike the continental US.
