even with the new things I’m trying, still having trouble getting the chicken coop temperature down to under 100F - since that’s still what it’s been outside on this heatdome evening. 😩

@peeppeepcircus hoping that you chose the proper chickens for climate change. When I made the decision to get chickens years ago I went with particular breeds that would tolerate not just 100°F temps but humidity as well. In addition, feeding them plenty of watermelons, mist spraying, and getting dirt wet so they would scratch and cool themselves on holes the would dig out. Also, chicken coup was under large fig tree providing plenty of shade throughout day. Yup, survived a few 110° F days.

@Victor of course I’ve done all that and keep doing that and more, but this is the worst heatdome i’ve experienced. I never lost a chicken to heat stress before, even in previous heatwaves and heatdomes, including the one last month. this is worse and pushing more limits.
