I have a very plebeian question. What's the policy on leftovers in your household. My family's policy was, serve leftovers however many times you can, until they're gone or spoiled. My wife's family is two meals, and then trash. Anyone?

@TwiHusband We don't have much of an issue, because hubs always takes leftovers for lunch. He can eat the same things for days. I try hard not to waste food anymore, though.

@TwiHusband 2 meals, then trash: I had food poisoning from spoiled leftovers and all I can say it NEVER AGAIN.

@Liliki Before I met my wife, I had to put my foot down a couple of times. A few years before she passed away, my mother's sense of smell was nonexistent.

@TwiHusband

Somewhere between those two.

Generally speaking there aren't enough leftovers to go more than three days but Hubs will eat them even if I won't. I get to a certain point and I just can't any more.

I'll eat them for a couple days, he's usually on his own for day three.

It depends on what it is, too. eg: Turkey is a couple days of sandwiches, turn into soup and have that for a couple days, turn that into pot pies. Anything left after a couple days is frozen for later.

@TwiHusband If at all possible, nothing goes to waste. If there is too much, it is divided and frozen.

@TwiHusband Two meals, then trash. I read somewhere that E. coli may start forming after a couple of days and that has stuck in my head every time we eat leftovers.
