WE ARE DONE. He came, looked at all the stuff, and we’re going to do this in four phases—small stuff we bring to their warehouse, nicer furniture they come pick up and take to their warehouse, an onsite sale with what’s left and with the books, and very specialized things we send with my sister to sell in Minneapolis.

Whew. We are ready for the auctioneers to come give us their assessment. Woof. I’m gonna need a boatload of margaritas to calm down after all this work.

Prepping for this estate sale is Herculean.

@KazzyH @LnzyHou I am so excited!! Our estate sale is in October. We go in November after the election to look at the neighborhoods we’re considering. And we hope to sell the house once we return. 🤞🏼 So much to do!

I’m doing everything I can to help with the election at all levels of government. We want our friends and family to have the best possible future. But we are also certain about going for climate, finances, and politics all bound up together.

@LnzyHou @KazzyH Yikes! We have self checkouts at all four stores near me here in mid-Missouri.

We love ours so much! I’m going to miss it when we move to Spain.

They look delicious! I hope other folks think they taste good too.

@KazzyH It’s so good! I figure four of them cut up into pieces is enough for 30 or so people if there’s one or two others they can choose from. And if there’s some leftover, that’s fine with me. 😋

Heading tonight to a potluck dinner for Progressives in my small town. Since Mom and I are both going, I need to make two dishes. However, I’ve got so much going on with prepping for the estate sale and being the county Democratic committee chair, I don’t have a lot of time to cook, so I’m heating up a frozen sweet potato casserole and baking four apple strudels from ALDI which I’ll cut up into bite size pieces. If they don’t like it, well…oh well.

Today, we cleaned and polished my great-grandmother’s Windsor rocking chair to prep it for auction. She had seven children and rocked each of them to sleep in that chair when they were babies, as evidenced by the wear on the bottom of the wooden rockers.

But this chair can’t go to Spain. So I will take a photo and then it’ll go in the auction with all the other items.

It’s a bittersweet goodbye to all the things.
