Heading tonight to a potluck dinner for Progressives in my small town. Since Mom and I are both going, I need to make two dishes. However, I’ve got so much going on with prepping for the estate sale and being the county Democratic committee chair, I don’t have a lot of time to cook, so I’m heating up a frozen sweet potato casserole and baking four apple strudels from ALDI which I’ll cut up into bite size pieces. If they don’t like it, well…oh well.

@KazzyH It’s so good! I figure four of them cut up into pieces is enough for 30 or so people if there’s one or two others they can choose from. And if there’s some leftover, that’s fine with me. 😋

However…
The line today to check out was halfway through the store. Huge issue no self check stands like in NC. Doesn’t seem to create more cashiers either.
When I complained to manager he said “This is New Jersey. They steal us blind. We can’t have self check.”
He was astounded 8 self check stands & rarely a human cashier in NC & PA ALDIs.
@KazzyH @LnzyHou I am so excited!! Our estate sale is in October. We go in November after the election to look at the neighborhoods we’re considering. And we hope to sell the house once we return. 🤞🏼 So much to do!
I’m doing everything I can to help with the election at all levels of government. We want our friends and family to have the best possible future. But we are also certain about going for climate, finances, and politics all bound up together.

Also for the second year in a row orvis made a blunder and didn't send an online gift certificate to him. Geez.
Lots of vegetarian options I bought in NC not available this NJ location.

We never got to aldis yesterday ( nearby in NH ) while visiting MIL it took forever and then some to get there and I had getmeoutofthecaritis. I buy lots of pantry staples there.
I'm not sure about the availability of organics there my daughter does a lot of Wegmans and shoprite pick up orders for organics though so maybe that's the case there too?
Not looking for organics but vegetarian. IE: cauliflower pizza only with pepperoni when it also comes vegetarian. Folks don’t seem to know that. Very few ready made salads etc
Ah thanks for the clarification. I've never seen ready made salads etc there. Any trader joes nearby? Shoprite is humongous with a lot of options too we've found

Just left aldis. Not a ton of organics there. Anyway we did self check out. So you can let the Mgr know self check out ( 4 registers ) exists in Flemington.

Thats odd. They have self check out at my daughters aldis in Hunderton County. At least they did and everyone who works there is amazing.
