A young couple moved here to this small town from the far south of India to attend graduate programs at the university here. They don’t know anyone and are so far from home, have no furniture and no car, mom and I gave them a couple of armchairs, a desk and rolling chair, some cookware and a rice cooker as well as some fresh veggies and fruit from our garden. We also took them to the nearest large town to the little Indian market and other shops and have offered to take them when we do our -
- weekly shopping. Tonight, they brought us some of these to thank us for all our help. So delicious! I’m so happy we could make them feel welcome and at home.
