October Halloween Story Time
The Late Night Passenger
Ben had been driving for hours down an empty stretch of highway, the radio playing softly to keep him awake. It was past midnight, and the road seemed endless, shrouded in fog. He hadnโt seen another car for miles, and his eyelids were growing heavy.
Suddenly, from the corner of his eye, he saw a figure standing by the side of the roadโjust a woman, dressed in white, holding out her thumb for a ride. Startled, Ben slowed the car, glancing in the rearview mirror. The road was deserted, and the figure seemed out of place, but he felt a strange pull to stop.
The woman was sitting in the backseat, staring directly at him through the mirror, her hollow eyes locked on his.
She leaned forward, her voice a cold whisper: โYou shouldnโt have stopped.โ
