My credit card company flagged a purchase I just made as potentially fraudulent, which is weird, since impulse-buying obscure video games at 4:30 in the morning is very much my brand.

@TheCard
Mine has done the same in recent weeks. Even though my purchase history would show it to be legitimate. I'm thinking random alerts perhaps is a thing. I'm glad for them, and I have purchase alerts set up so I'm immediately informed of my card use.

I also double checked the fraud text alert number to verify it to be authentic. Interestingly, a week or so after receiving the alert, my bank sent reference numbers they use for all text alerts. I've kept it for reference.

@CherNohio Good on you for being so diligent when it comes to security. I could stand to learn a thing or two.
