@TetsuKaba

That’s right. He’s at home crying black nazi tears because he’s finished, ya weird couch Nazi…

"Democracy dies in darkness." The cowardice at the Washington Post is breathtaking. Turn out the lights. I ended my subscription weeks ago. I will now pull the plug on Amazon.

Please do the same.

@SaltyVeruca

Yeah, no matter what happens with Turdmp, the weakness and limitations of some of the most important pillars of democracy (a Republic) have been badly exposed as broken by his behavior, among those things: The press, but also a court system that gives special treatment to thebpowerful and wealthy and the ruinous rotted and worm-filled concept of the electoral college, which is literally a total fucking joke.

The court system, press,

@99reasons4truth

Although, “bad person” isn’t necessarily evil sometimes. What constitutes a “bad person”?

@99reasons4truth

They can feel human fear and anxiety, as well as happiness, and I think even know when something or someone is sick or physically or mentally out of sync with nature and dangerous, and maybe that’s a form of evil(?) , but “evil” is a human construct, because animals are instinctual and therefore innocent. Nature is amoral. Only a creature with the higher brain functioning to make a distinction between good and evil, and has a choice can be “evil”. So I’m going to say no.

@elbutterfield

Yes and holy shit, what a slogan… could the WaPo look any worse from this action???

@SaltyVeruca

He’s just looking for safety in case Trump wins and well…this action is already encouraging Turdmp to send out threatening Truth Social screeds threatening anyone and everyone who doesn’t support him.

Bezos is stupid.

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. '”

@elbutterfield

Oof… Bezos just turned the WaPo into a joke and did incredible harm to that paper’s good name.

Waiting for Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein to comment about it. They must be horrified.

@SaltyVeruca

Yes, you have to wonder if he’s hedging his bets, but this all comes off as incredibly cowardly and lacking in gravitas and character.

Seems when the moment of truth comes Bezos will run and hide in the darkness and possibly let democracy die like the most lily-livered of sycophants.

@SpaceShanks

We’re living in the age of techno-bros obsessed with owning space and subjugating the people of the earth to their “iron wills” and having enough money to apply their “superior” understanding and plans for mankind’s future progress.

In short we’re in the era of real life Dr. Evil like super-buffoons…

I called to cancel the Washington Post subscription and they are getting so many calls today they have put me in a queue for a call back. Good job people!👏🏼

@SaltyVeruca

I’m sure he parsed the numbers and made a calculated risk, but Bezos for all his astuteness can be very tone-deaf and not understand things until public opinion bites him in the ass.

Inordinate amounts of cancellations to Amazon, WaPo and even a one day boycott of Whole Foods stores will hit him where he lives.

In case anyone needs it

just put in your zip and it'll tell you about each thing on the ballot

WAPO:

Rep. Ted Lieu, a Democrat from California, in his own tweet on the news wrote,

"The first step towards fascism is when the free press cowers in fear."

msn.com/en-us/news/politics/je

the fact that multiple newspapers are altering their coverage of the election based on fear of reprisal from one candidate is, in fact, a Giant Fucking Story

They really think they can benefit more by being propaganda for an authoritarian, then embrace their role as the 4th estate and protect democracy

Less than two weeks from the Election and the media has decided to sit this one out
