Hello CoSonians! Happy Sunday!
Question: What’s the thinking on best online outfit in terms of price/quality for RX eyeglasses?? 🤓
I’ve used Zenni with pretty decent results but the weaselly way they upsell you incrementally beyond the basic coke-bottles for lenses is making me get all Dr Banner HULK-y.. 😡
Also, I’ve been avoiding reading books due to my Rx changing! 🙀😱 SO HULK GETTING DUMBER! HULK SMASH DUMB!!
Hmm… sounds like a good idea. But I find the real cost driver is in the lenses. And that gets all sorts of wonky. Unless you’re going to dish out Zeiss lenses which honestly if you thinknof your eyes as built in cameras needing excellent camera lenses it makes perfect sense as an investment in self-betterment and self-care…etc
🧐🤔
A prescription for lenses is a prescription for lenses. They ALL just fax them to a gigantic optical lab which grinds out thousands of lenses a day.

You've never seen the size of my hands.

"I dunno. Why are YOU so freakishly ANNOYING?"

That fits rather erm.. handily in that category of shaing known as "TMI".
@TheAbbotTrithemius I just tried Warby Parker for the first time. I did go to the store for a full eye exam as my eye doctor had just retired and I didn't want to wait a couple of months for an appointment. @TheAbbotTrithemius I’ve tried that and eyebuydirect amd prefer zenni of the two.
Supposedly eyebuy has better quality (and I guess I can’t disagree) but the price increases a fair bit.
Thanks for the tip! 🤓
@TheAbbotTrithemius definitely Warby Parker the virtual try on is great and they start many frames at $95 including RX

My go-to has been 39dollarglases.com for quite some time now. Tack sharp..
Prescription and PD is all you need..
Big pumpkin on my shoulders and their Westport frames are my current favorite and go-to...
@TheAbbotTrithemius
39dollarglasses... Missed that second s above...
@TheAbbotTrithemius
I don't have the link, but there used to be an optometrist in Colorado who'd take your prescription and a set of old frames, and put new lenses in them.
