Hi CoSoNauts I have a fish emergency. 🐠
(J, fire up the CoSoCom. 😂)
So, I agreed to feed two goldfish for friends who left town for the holiday weekend.
I gave them a couple of sprinklings of fish flakes, and a big pinch of protein pellets, cuz thanksgiving,, right?
Anyhow, the water has become unclear and slightly yellowish, and it smell a little.
Is that normal? Will it clear up? Should I change the water?
Is it possible the goldfish will over-eat and explode?😱
Ok, thank you!
@TheAbbotTrithemius No problem 😊 👍🏼
@TheAbbotTrithemius 😂 com alert lol
oh my lord don't think there in any danger of exploding lol but they won't stop eating so could harm them
change the water also
@ecksmc @TheAbbotTrithemius
Change the filter in the pump. I think the food clogged it up.
@Steve3762 @TheAbbotTrithemius
i'd still change the water as well as filter get rid of any food rinse the tank out
@ecksmc @TheAbbotTrithemius
If you do change the water, you have to let the new water get to room temperature before you put the fish back in. That may take a few hours.
@Steve3762 @TheAbbotTrithemius
better a few hours spent than playing russian roulette with the wee fishes lives imo
goldfish are like homer simpson they will eat and eat and never stop till they are floating on top 😂
@ecksmc @TheAbbotTrithemius
I think it's time to call the owner. Just say, "hey just thought I'd call you, everything is ok. Quick question, is the water in the tank supposed to be cloudy?"
Um, I found the filter, not sure how to put that in and also a pail and a long clear tube ...Should I put the goldfish in another place temporarily??
I should just google this stuff...and perhaps call the goldfish owners?
There's a whole gallon of distilled water under the fishtank...
AHHH...this is turning into the thanksgiving goldfish nightmare emergency of 2018!
LOLOL..

with pics lol
@TheAbbotTrithemius changing the water is not so simple. It is probably the riskiest thing you can do if you don't know what you are doing.
@TheAbbotTrithemius I would change the water. But be sure to use whatever water conditioner they have to pull out any chlorine.
I’ve never had goldfish, but it is my understanding that they will eat themselves to death so if there’s any food still in there i’d Get rid of that too
