@BlueStateBabe You haven't exhausted all your options. Please look for a pro bono lawyer.
@MisterE Seriously, I have. They are available for serious injury situations and some domestic violence situations. That's all we have here.
@BlueStateBabe @MisterE you said they claimed a witness when there wasn't one? I assume an officer responded to assess the events, if there wasn't a witness there, they wouldn't be in the police report that you would be able to request a copy of that shows that no witness was present. That's what I had to do.
@BlueStateBabe oh wow, up here you have to call after $500 in damages. That suuucks. You could try small claims proceedings maybe, if you have the GPS map info etc to prove her a liar.
Sounds like she hit you pretty good
@Tail @MisterE
I went to call the police but she left, saying she had to go to work. So I went home and filed an immediate report with DMV online.
Called police, but they said they just let DMV handle reports, they don't take them. I think there has to be serious damage or personal injury for the police to come.
Our cops are kind of useless. They seldom show up on the scene, and are known to take hours to do so. They don't prosecute most property crimes. Badly underfunded.
