@Render I mean, I contend this started around 615 CE when the Prophet Mohammad suddenly and inexplicably* went from "love thy Jewish neighbors" to "death to those scummy merchants."
* The implication in various texts I read, decades ago, was that he lost out on business dealings to Jews. Suggesting the flip-flop from love to hate was all about money.
