@phase2 The first thing I'm doing after the exam tomorrow is taking a helluva nap, while my brain leaks out my ears.

@Dane Other engine likely got tossed during uncontrolled descent. You'd be surprised at how little is left after an aircraft fire - there's a lot of lightweight metals used in modern aircraft, including magnesium. If it gets hot enough for that to combust, you tend to end up an outline that's vaguely aircraft shaped and filled with piles of powder.

BREAKING: Judge McAfee had accepted the Fulton County DA’s October 23rd trial date, but ONLY for Chesebro; effectively severing him from the other 18 defendants. Chesebro had filed for a speedy trial, and Fani Willis recommended 10/23 for all 19 defendants.

More to come.

@BillyBones @Render my gut (and non-Render endorsed) feeling is that would be extremely unlikely, because they'd be admitting Ukraine is operating with (seeming) impunity north of Moscow.

@Synical Here's what I came up with for your prompt: 'Please create a picture of Benedict Cumberbatch as a cyberpunk netrunner.'

@Alfred Please create a picture of Benedict Cumberbatch as a cyberpunk netrunner.

Even $$ says half the "sources" are civvies looking for an endorphin rush, or some wannabe strategist that wouldn't know how to run a quartering party or squad level action, let alone large-scale strategic engagements.

@catlynne333 SMDH
Every time I see one of these articles, I want to scream "Did you check with @Render before posting this, you dim-witted fart-sniffers!?!"

IMO, much of the "according to U.S. and other Western officials" is an immediate signal to stop reading - 'cause it's VERY likely those "sources" don't know jack shit about:
1) The actual situation on the ground
2) Ukraine's goals (like they'd tell us anyways, after all the leaks)
3) Military tactics in general

@Valkai Looks like they might be sneaking it in.... slowly. I know you can use IPv6 for custom domain hosted pages, and the current meta seems to have some IPv6 addy's included (I didn't do a deep dive though, just a quick scan).

@arthurpendragon How very... French of them. 😆

I'd get one of those covers with a keyboard built in and call it a day. If they make a stink out of it, tell them you want to challenge it because it's not documented in requirements/syllabus.

Might be fun to let the student newspaper and local media about it, too.

Interesting opinion piece about the potential dismantling of regulatory agencies by the Supreme Court:

@FrankCannon @tgraph52 Yep- much like professional sports, where the journeymen (and journeywomen) that are responsible for much of the teams success are overshadowed by the stars and highlight reels.

@Synical Even royalties are a pittance for a very popular series/film unless you happen to be a big name. @tgraph52

Ah, nice - I deleted my bird account when the muskrat moved in. While I miss content from Gibson and a few others, don't have any regrets. Here's the article I saw:

@FrankCannon @tgraph52
@tgraph52 What irked me was the story I saw said they blamed it on the writer's strike.

Um... a delay might be due to the strike. Cancelling an approved season is not the fault of the WGA, it's (IMO) naked greed by the white-collar execs that justify exorbitant salaries based on increased advertising sales to other white-collar individuals. Meanwhile, writers and actors that actually CREATE the content that allows them to sell ads get paid a fraction. 😠
