@BlueVoter24 Sounds Fabulous! I prepare a standing rib roast, with Yorkshire pudding. I wish you were closer, so I could make you some of my grandmother Mary's cinnamon rolls. She used mashed potatoes as a binder. They are fabulous! It's nice to have traditions for the holidays!
@BlueVoter24 Sounds Wonderful!
@BlueVoter24 The Yorksire pudding is a savory souffle. U I was going to try making individual ones in popover tins, but have to do a test run, first. The secret to popovers, is greasing the sides of the tube, then putting something granular over the fat, to give the popover something to grab, while it's building height.
@SuzE43_ It works quite well. Everything soaks in overnight, and it cooks up quite well in the morning. Yum!
@BlueVoter24 This was a depression era recipe. You threw in a cup of mashed potatoes. It acted as a binder, improved the flavor, and eliminated waste.
@BlueVoter24 Yorkshire pudding is really a souffle that is savory, because you use some of the melted fat in the batter. Mine get pretty high.
@SuzE43_ That's pretty cool! I've never had Yorkshire Pudding. I like cinnamon rolls, and no, I've never heard of the mashed potato trick. The trick I use is putting two tubes of cin/rolls on a pan, pour a stick of melted butter over them, and a half a pint of heavy cream. Then I cover and let sit in the fridge overnight, and cook 'em in the morning.
