So yesterday i'm driving to my buddy's place not far from my place and I see, at a somewhat far distance, a flock of bats coming out of a forrest. Bats are not uncommon around here even tho most people don't really realize it because they don't notice them, but you can often see them flying around just after sunset when there's still enough light in the sky to create silhouettes. It was at that time that I saw this flock, around 8:30pm. So I hyped this story to friends, colleagues, family. (1/2)
@Stevo You're gonna have to eat some crow?
@Stevo Ummm, Steevo, those bats could very well be the largest, strangest-looking bats you have ever seen! And there were hundreds, nay, thousands! of 'em!! Never seen bats like that before!!! And you even looked in the field guide and couldn't find 'em for a positive ID.
I mean, you'rer the one telling this story, right? It is your story, isn't it??
😜
Today, I decide to go back to film them. And so I get in my car and drive there for 8pm and I sit there waiting. Up over the tree line, I see the flock emerge and i'm ready to film them.
But...
Wait...
Now that I'm up close, I realize my mistake. They aren't bats, they're just your regular common crow...
And now I have to conclude this story tomorrow with my head down and my tail between my legs.
