End assessment of the vax is it hit harder and anecdotal evidence from a few people I know agrees. It is a new mix after all.
Either way, a lot of places had a rough spike so get the damn thing. And take extra cautions as it wasn't a great summer.
I'm positive on the nasal vaccines, so let's hope that gets through and gets out ASAP.
Driving in #SanFrancisco yesterday really reminded me how ridiculous car-centric areas can become. Weird paths, turns, reserved roadways, etc. It was like navigating a puzzle.
I visit every 6-12 months and each time it feels it becomes, somehow, more complicated to drive there. Past some point it seems like it'd be easier to just have less stuff for cars and more CITY and public transport.
The #SFZineFest was awesome. Even if zines aren't your thing if you like alt-press and small press it's worth it. Also you may get into zines.
It's even worth driving in San Francisco . . . though it might be wiser to take public transport.
Just listened to the latest Conspirituality podcast on the inevitable Trump meltdown. While discussing it with a friend, he was speculating on psychology dynamics in the GOP.
I noted that the GOP isn't a political party in any form. It's a mix of cult and dysfunctional family. Trump has replicated his personal problems and business bullshit at scale.

Why are so many "leaders" so broken? Maybe trying to figure it out gets in the way of preventing them from having power. https://www.stevensavage.com/blog/2024/08/broken-at-the-top.html
The Trump Arlington story gets worse as it was essentially a fake memorial event Trump would claim Harris and Biden didn't attend.

Was chatting about old films with a friend. This idea emerged:
1) Reboot Charlie Chan, drop the stereotypes.
2) Chan is a detective in Jazz Era San Francisco.
3) He's the Smartest Man in the room and he manipulates people's bigotries and biases.
4) If Chan drops quotes they really come from Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism.
5) Fill it with real historical references and elements.
6) Get the people who did "Sugar" behind it.
7) Cast Benedict Wong just cut him loose.
