Look if people think Jesus can prevent school shootings directly then I demand a demonstration. Because it seems pretty clear he and every other Religion Bigwig said "don't be violent shits" and we didn't listen, so it's on us.

@dauphin87 I still lay about a 1 in 3 chance Trump doesn't show, even odds if anything really challenging for him drops in the news.

For instance Columbus Ohio where I went to college. A GIGANTIC university filled with museums and a huge library? A night life filled with weird and wondrous bands? In a capitol city?

That's pure fantasy fuel right there - the strange university that looms over the capitol, where strange, creative activities ferment at night . . .

I love this post, but I'd also add almost any city is magical if you have eyes to see it. A lot of us know the magic in our city.

Which means any city can inspire you to write its magical side.

Might be a fun writing challenge.

Yes, the media goes easy on Trump, but every other day we get some creepy JD Vance quote. Where the hell were they during, I dunno, most of his career?

End assessment of the vax is it hit harder and anecdotal evidence from a few people I know agrees. It is a new mix after all.

Either way, a lot of places had a rough spike so get the damn thing. And take extra cautions as it wasn't a great summer.

I'm positive on the nasal vaccines, so let's hope that gets through and gets out ASAP.

Driving in yesterday really reminded me how ridiculous car-centric areas can become. Weird paths, turns, reserved roadways, etc. It was like navigating a puzzle.

I visit every 6-12 months and each time it feels it becomes, somehow, more complicated to drive there. Past some point it seems like it'd be easier to just have less stuff for cars and more CITY and public transport.

The was awesome. Even if zines aren't your thing if you like alt-press and small press it's worth it. Also you may get into zines.

It's even worth driving in San Francisco . . . though it might be wiser to take public transport.

I know many people are waiting for the collapse of Twitter, but consider the death of a thousand cuts. Musk caved to Modhi, Brazil hits X, the EU is probing here, and there, etc.

Twitter may not collapse but slowly be sliced up, bit by bit, into irrelevance.

@ReneeVoiceBrand it also gives us some idea of the needed recovery modes and dangers.

1) People will go to seek other culti/pathological family groups.
2) We need to treat people trying to escape as people escaping from an abusive cult/family.
3) The GOP will not fix itself if there's a meltdown. The Trump family is in charge, and they're inherently unhealthy.
4) Efforts still need to be made to rebuild social structures and trust, but we'll be doing it while having bad actors in society.

Just listened to the latest Conspirituality podcast on the inevitable Trump meltdown. While discussing it with a friend, he was speculating on psychology dynamics in the GOP.

I noted that the GOP isn't a political party in any form. It's a mix of cult and dysfunctional family. Trump has replicated his personal problems and business bullshit at scale.

Vaccine side effects down 80%. Looks like for me it takes 2 days for it to pass, but definitely hit HARD.

Further vaxx update definitely hit hard. Also having enormous appetite increase for which I personally prescribe burritos.
