The absolutely weird part of the Springfield issue is how it both highlights Trump's debate disaster AND how deluded and extreme he and his crew are. It doesn't distract, it amplifies.
The press is even vaguely getting it in some cases, though you can see them straining for some kind of "both sides" and surprisingly failing more than I expected.
And it's not done yet. Once you have the grifters and extremists circling they try to milk it for all they can.

Literally no one seems to be "both-sides-ing" this. What's been consistently reported is that RWNJs keep spouting this, it's STILL bullshit, Springfield is getting shut down by threats of violence and bombings, and everyone there is scared out of their wits.
Can you show me an example of what you're upset about?
