We're seeing Republicans incredibly dispirited. This brings up something oft ignored - it's a Strongman Party. They follow the strongman - Trump cemented that. 1/

The predictions of a Red Tsunami were their assertion of their dominance (and to an extent the dominance of Trump, albeit not so much). To not get that, even with some successes, gives them no Strongman to worship. 2/

Notice the sudden attacks on Trump and latching into DeSantis. That's just just re-alignment, they need a new Strongman. 3/

If they don't have a strongman, Republicans fear they'll start following DEMOCRATS. The Democrats doing well makes them the Strongmen. 4/

So Republicans must ostracize the failure (Trump, in theory) and seek a new Strongman. This is devestating to them. 5/

This brings up two things. We must keep pressing them, getting victories, and not letting up. This will derail republican efforts and keep them off their guard. 6/

Secondly, DeSantis (or any possible candidates) need to be derailed ASAP. DeSantis may be easy as he's thin-skinned, already racking unpopularity, and Florida is a mess. 7/7

@StevenSavage Scott Walker, has-been governor of Wisconsin, is also available to lead the R's to the inevitable.
