Yesterday my bank, regions, told my stepmother who went there with a check of mine that came in the mail, my account number and she wrote for deposit only on the back, the same way she's been doing since 2015 on and off, that they were no longer going to accept my checks into my checking account unless I come sign them. They've lost their mind.
@BlockDerFraun well she was depositing it for me because I'm out of state, so I walked my ass right into a regions Bank today and asked if there was some reason why I can't have a check deposited in my account stating for deposit only and was told no. Described the situation to them and was told there is no reason why anyone should have said that to my stepmother.

@StephanieResists well that's great! I was told I had to have my own account at their bank, deposit into my own account, then transfer to my son- this was before Zelle was available
@StephanieResists this started happening for me about 5 years ago when I could no longer deposit checks from me into my son's account for him when I was in Cal and he was in NY - then it was all the big banks refusing even cash deposits into my children's accounts
