How do you take such an excellent cast with so much talent and end up with these?
Anyway I'm skipping Clones today and going right to Sith.
@Shelter Attack of the Clones is an abomination.
It's awful.
Just awful.
@Shelter It's not Ed Wood, Jr. awful, but boy, it's not far off.
@Shelter @LiberalLibrarian What's wrong with me that I like that one. I though it was better than Part III or Part I.
Is it age? I'm 52.
@Shelter @LiberalLibrarian 56 here...
No, then.
I explained to my kid that for the kids who were, well, kids when they came out they were highly enjoyable and that's completely valid.
I'm also going to state that these are my opinions and opinions are subjective.
@Shelter @LiberalLibrarian Subjective? Opinions?
Nope, I'm convinced it's a personal failing of mine. :)
But then I adored The Last Jedi.
I still haven't seen Rise of Skywalker because Carrie Fisher's death broke me.
@LiberalLibrarian @Shelter I liked Rogue One, and the first two sequels. Solo was okay. That last sequel really hurt me on a fundamental level. I'm still mad at it.
I liked Episode 1, even Jar Jar, the first time I saw it. Me and my friends camped out the night before to get tickets, so the memory has a lot to do with my feelings. The 2nd time I watched it, years later after having seen Episode 2, (which is 🤮), I got annoyed with Anakin fast. His voice, mannerisms, all of it. I still enjoy Jar Jar just for the simpleness of the character. He desperately wants to help & be wanted but he makes a mess.
@see_the_sus I hated Jar Jar the first time, but on the second time around, I got the point.
I explained that when these were made we didn't WANT them to fail. We were so excited! But they're an absolute snooze.
The fun is missing.
I then showed him this image because when this poster was released we lost our minds. It's so simple and effective.
And the films- are not.
