@FPonTheDL
You're in CANADA π€£
@Shelter EXACTLY! Global warming is real. It was colder in NM than here yesterday. Extreme temps are part of the fun global warming game. Where are you?
North Carolina
The one below Virginia.
@Shelter the issue for where you are is that your homes are not made for this and your pipes freeze. If you can, cut the water to the outdoor pipes off and empty them.
We're on a well.
We keep a closed oil radiator type space heater under the house in the winter.
@Shelter Does it keep the place warm?
@FPonTheDL
Keeps the pipes from freezing.
WTF!
Yes I know.
I tried to explain it once back at my kid's elementary school when some parents were like, "How you like this Global Warming? Hurr no wait it's CLIMATE CHANGE now," and I said, "Climate and weather are not the same thing," and they laughed at me and walked away.
@Shelter π€¦π»ββοΈ Some people are nuts
@FPonTheDL
These people also have no desire to learn.
They revel in their ignorance.
It's beyond me.
@Shelter yup, which is really sad. I devour books and love learning new things.
@FPonTheDL
That's one thing that was absolutely horrifying about having TFG in office.
He's one of the most incurious people I've ever seen.
@Shelter I still remember how he redrew the hurricane cone with a sharpy. I know a lot of legit US meteorologists in the US and they LOST it when he did that. He was discrediting the NHC and the NWS. A total and utter disgrace. These people are scientists ffs, yes they know more that you, you big orange moron
I used to not embarrass very easily.
That changed, and that moment was completely mortifying.
@Shelter I think a lot of ppl were mad. You have nothing to be embarrassed of. A lot of us around the world donβt associate him with all Americans
@FPonTheDL
My mom was starting to fall for the "myth" narrative due to the cold and snow so I did the demonstration with the ice in a glass of water and holding her hand over it.
"Ohhhhh."
@Shelter thatβs a good example.
@Shelter this is global warming. The north gets hot and the lower parts get cold. Each time I see freezing temps in the southern US, the north is always warm. That map is in Celcius btw
