@Diabolu_Frank Yup that’s the overall sentiment of the community as a whole. It warms my heart to see that it’s generally on the positive side. One important note is that ad blockers can break it and make it appear all the way negative when it really isn’t!

@Diabolu_Frank The automatic metadata removal is also why images sometimes end up sideways. The information about the image’s proper orientation can get removed. If you do a quick edit of the image and save it, that usually fixes the orientation.

@SANJOSEMAILMAN I believe if we can successfully promote the culture that block/mute/filter should be used very aggressively and frequently to control your own experience, those folks that can’t let go of the negativity will soon find themselves in a very quiet void and leave of their own accord. The idea that it’s impolite to unfollow is one of the worst things about the bird site.

@Michael_L It’s not that it’s no maga so much as it’s no trolls and not mean spirited. There are conservative people here but you aren’t going to get piled on and insulted. You can actually have a conversation.

My favorite thing is there is no magical secret algorithm to appease. The firehose is equal opportunity for everyone to be heard. Follower counts don’t matter. Just post cool stuff and it will be seen.

@Dnaguitar7 You could try a browser plug-in like Dark Reader. I use it to make the entire Internet dark mode but it’s configurable.
