Why is the government paying to put up dozens of agents at way over-inflated prices inside the properties of a guy that tried to overthrow the government?
@th3j35t3r Fun Fact: Trump jacked up nightly rates at his properties for secret service agents, charging the government as much as $1,100 per night per agent.
He continues to make millions from this.
@kel @th3j35t3r Yes he has really abused the system. They released documents in 2017 on meetings that he held at his properties. There are certain limits placed around government travel but some companies get around them by changing a fee for the business event itself. It’s supposed to be for covering the cost being hosted and the overhead fees along with light snacks and coffee. He used it to charge thousands a day for each person attending. It was gross abuse but was lost in the mix.
