I just re-watched these movies. It was interesting, what stuck out to me this time. In some ways they feel very contemporary, and in other ways, they are a time capsule of the era in which they were made. Lover come back was the one that hit me the strangest this time. Have you seen any of these? What did you think?
@QueenOfEverything that sounds like fun!
@InvaderGzim @QueenOfEverything I knew they were up to something!
@stueytheround LOL! I can't say that I have. I'm sure it's based on the beautiful feathers.
My Monday blog today is about favorite words. Myself, I'm fond of collective nouns and old fashioned slang. How about you? Got any favorite words? Why those? https://samanthadunawaybryant.blogspot.com/2024/09/words-i-love-open-book-blog-hop-post.html
For open book blog hop today, we're talking about publicity, traditionally the bane of author life. Is there any part of it you actually enjoy? https://samanthadunawaybryant.blogspot.com/2024/09/the-good-bits-of-publicity-open-book.html #CoSoWriters
@Luber905 @CJShaneArtBooks @JanetZumba_FalPals @LnzyHou Grew up in Kentucky, early adulthood in Alaska in Kansas, and now in North Carolina. Somewhere I picked up a y’all habit. I use it as an expression of incredulity. the difference between y’all and all y’all is emphasis on a way the group is all alike. All y’all comes up more often if I’m being teasingly judging. When I used to teach middle school Spanish, I found y’all useful for explaining the difference between usted with ustedes.
@vilamundi7 I think I still have my old "Bush" bias against Anchorage. We always used to say that you could get to Alaska pretty quick from Anchorage. But, yeah, I definitely can't do cabin life anymore.
@vilamundi7 I definitely miss Alaska, though I might be less suited to the life now that I’m older.
@vilamundi7 Lovely shot! I used to live right up the road in Kenny Lake!
@tgraph52 What a beauty!
@BlueStateBabe That’s a good one!
@LnzyHou I hope you’re going somewhere that will light your soul.
Samantha Bryant wishes she were taller, faster, and braver, so she writes characters who are. She's best known for her Menopausal Superheroes series.
