@Ubiety @BosmangBeratna @ianthealy Did y'all also watch the live action? How'd you feel about it? That was pretty contentious in our panel. Myself, I love both, but for different reasons.
@Samanthabwriter @Ubiety @BosmangBeratna I enjoyed the live action, although Netflix clearly bowed to the pressure of a toxic fan base when they killed it. It's like nobody was allowed to just enjoy the show.
@Samanthabwriter @Ubiety @BosmangBeratna Whenever someone finally gets a live action Akira made, it will suffer the same wrath. If it's an exact duplicate, toxic fans will argue "why bother at all?" and if they try to do something different, the toxic fans will scream "NOT CANON".

I watched the first 15-20 mins of the first episode, but it didn't pull me in like the animated series.
I was also 21 when the original aired, and it was just a fun, cool show to see on American TV at the time. Now that I can watch almost anything whenever I want, I find I don't have much interest in anything anymore. π€·
